An ergonomic worktop is a key element of your workplace. Thanks to the ergonomic cutout, you can comfortably put your elbows on the table and work in accordance with ISO 9241-5:1998 - "Ergonomic requirements for office work using video display terminals". This is important to reduce the load on the back and neck. Research shows that the correct position of the hands can reduce the load on the neck and shoulder area by 30%, which helps to reduce the risk of developing pain and improve the general well-being.
Materials for countertops.
The choice of the material of the table top is especially important for computer tables, since we spend more than 6 hours at them every day. Some materials, such as glass and stone, are not recommended for long-term use due to their coldness, which can cause discomfort.
The main characteristics for choosing a countertop:
- Wooden table tops: We use furniture boards of category A/B made of walnut, ash and oak. Single-lamella worktops with the possibility of tinting. Placement near heaters and in places with temperature and humidity fluctuations should be avoided.
- MDF: Moisture-resistant material with more than 20 possible decors. Film of categories 6 and 7 is suitable for computer tables.
- Chipboard: The most budget option, but also requires careful use.
- HPL: Plywood countertops with HPL coating from leading Italian or Austrian manufacturers. This material has antibacterial properties, does not leave fingerprints and has high wear resistance.
Dimensions of table tops.
